When we were boys, it used to be fun
We play all day until we go insane
Often, we would fight and no one would break us apart
We would shed tears and get back to play as if we never had a fight
Even though we had our differences
We did our best to remain as friends
When we were boys, we were always together
Sharing everything we had
It was a pleasure that I would really miss
And I wish those days would never came to past
Back then, we never thought of paying bills
Rather, the toys and pets preoccupied us
We weren’t bothered if the economy was strong or puny
Neither did we care if a Republican or Democrat were in power
Everything seemed the same as we enjoyed each day that came
When we were boys, we were always together
Sharing everything we had
It was fun that I would really miss
And I wish those days would never came to past
Recalling how we used to do cookouts and sleepovers
And beg mommy to watch cartoons before we go to sleep
Then, when you were in need, my parents would provide for you
And when I am in trouble, your mommy would stand by me
Jealousy and hate never trapped our minds
Instead we saw ourselves as brothers of the same kind
When we were boys, we were always together
Sharing everything we ever had
It used to be fun and I wish those days would never came to past
Now that situation has changed
We have grown and became a man of our own
Is less likely we will see each other a lot
Or even hangout at all
Because family and busy work schedules dictates our ways of life
When we were boys, we were always together
Sharing everything we had
It was fun that I would really miss
And I wish those days would never came to past
